As part of our fire door installation and repair service we offer the service of installing and replacing intumescent products.

Intumescent means to be fire resisting and a fire rated seal of any kind is always described as "intumescent".

 

When we install our fire doors, we always use the required intumescent product with that specific installation, but in some cases, when we assess a door for a client, the door may have the correct fire rating certification and markings to prove that the door is an approved and correctly manufactured fire door, but may not have the correct intumescent products fitted to that door, in some cases, for example, since legislation changed, or if they were never originally fitted on site.

As long as the fire rated door being worked upon is manufactured to meet the requirements of that door and room, then we will offer to upgrade the fire rating by installing intumescent products to the door, frame and hardware.
